AI Product Engineer — Queenstown, NZ
I started as a Product Manager before becoming an engineer. That means I ask the right questions before writing a single line of code.
Our team of AI product engineers has helped 20+ clients plan and ship AI and software that actually works — by focusing on what users need, not fancy technology.
At the end of 2022, while working as a Product Manager, I got sick of not being able to build things. I felt like it was pointless thinking about what without the why — and vice versa. The best products I'd been part of fell at the intersection of both.
I taught myself to code and started building. I've since grown multiple websites into profitable businesses with over 50,000 users, launched apps, marketing funnels, and AI agents to run them — so I could focus on what I do best.
Product In Your Pocket exists to bring that same approach to more people. Early-stage founders, teams needing new direction. The lot.
Services
Product engineers think about what, why, and how. Not just how.
We've learnt a lot about AI and product development in our time in product management combined with software development & AI. Here's how we can help you with your strategy.
Often you need a bit of both — that's why we exist. We don't just strategise, we build (which actually helps you strategise better). We've built a lot of products and we're good at building them. Here's how we can help you with your build.
Client stories
Real feedback from real projects.
I engaged Anthony to build an integration between two platforms in our software stack. Before him, I was spending 2–3 hours daily on tedious manual data entry that risked corrupting our BI data. I spoke with 18 engineers before finding Anthony — he was the first who made me feel heard and could translate complex technical ideas into plain English. He delivered exactly what he promised: a seamless integration that just works. The manual work is gone, our data is clean, and communication throughout was top-tier. If you need integrations built, Anthony is the only person I'd call.
How we work
Engineers ask how. Product engineers ask what, why, and how. The result is a much higher chance of success.
Ask as many of the right questions as possible — commercial, vision, user needs. We talk to end users to make our own evaluation of the problem we are solving.
Piece together the best-fit technology, cutting scope where needed to prove value faster. Tech should fit the use case, budget and maintenance requirements — not the other way around.
Build iteratively, testing small chunks with users to generate quick feedback cycles. This saves getting to the end and having to reverse half the work.
Nothing is built without knowing how it performs. Because that's why you did it — for outcomes.
